Fan, the paper leaf painted with gouache of a curious jumble.
On a background color Sienna, are represented a trompe-l'oeil of lace, a map, a musical score, a chinoiserie and in central cartel a large scene with fishing, shepherding, and hunting.
On the reverse, a garden landscape with a fountain
The tortoiseshell sticks and guards are pierced, engraved and applied with gold foils depicting an allegory of the discovery of America: European arrive in boats and are given a key by Natives ! On each side, exotic birds are carved. The guards show Natives.
Condition: stains and tears to the leaf, gold foil of the sticks and guards is very dirty
