Large fan, the vellum leaf painted with putti crowning Love, surmounted by a lace frieze in Alençon needlepoint (with horsehair at the edge of the lace).
Signed by French painter Charles Chaplin (1825-1891) and fan-maker Faucon.
The sticks and guards are finely carved and engraved.
