Fan, the leaf in fine Brussels needlepoint lace inlaid with a silk cartel painted with a Venus surrounded by lovers.
Mother-of-pearl sticks and guards engraved and inlaid with gold and silver leaf
White mother-of-pearl motifs (flowers, birds, quivers, etc.) are applied to the guards and some of the sticks.
This process is characteristic of the technique invented by the table-maker Louis-Isidore Bastard, known as Bastard-Lanoy, in 1859, for which he registered a patent.
