Bone fan, the paper leaf is engraved and painted with a tribute to Italian composer Giovacchino Rossini (1792-1868), represented in majesty, with Renommée presenting a list of his works, framed by the scores and verses of “Torvaldo y Dorliska” and “Musica del Maestro Rossini”.
The iconography illustrates two of his operas, on the right “The Barber of Seville” (1816), and on the left “Mathilde de Sabran” (1821).
The reverse is illustrated with the Origen del abanico, the Spanish word for fan.
Bone sticks pierced and applied with mother-of-pearl and gold leaf, with engraved gilded brass guards.
