Wooden fan, the leaf in printed sulfurized paper, embroidered with sequins and applied with a vignette depicting the painting by French painter Jean-Frédéric Schall (renowned for his paintings of erotic subjects) “La servante officieuse” (1785) where a woman, bare-assed, waits for her maid to administer her enema (or more) while a man spies on them. On the reverse, a dated dedication: “30 mai 1915. Souvenir d'une soirée de bombe et d'une bataille sentimentale. A. Camille”. [Memories of a bombeshell's evening and a sentimental battle].
Good condition (small tears and stains)
