Heullant is born in Paris on April 23, 1834.  He studied in the Ecole des Beaux-Arts with Picot and E. Giraud.  He made his debut in the Salon in 1883 and became member of Societe des Artistes Francais. He was known like genre painter and mythological subjects. His works can be seen in many collections in France, like in the Musee des Beaux-Arts in Rouen,  and in Bagneres de Bigorre and Nantes.
