Wooden fan, the paper leaf printed and enhanced with gouache with a view of the 1866 Battle of Boqueron, framed with the coat of arms and flag of Argentina.

A curious fan, obviously non-contemporary, featuring Argentine emblems, even though the battle of Boqueron (July 16, 1866, pitted Paraguay against a coalition of Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina) was won by Paraguay. Printer's error?
70 years later, from 1932 to 1935, Paraguay again defended its territory in another battle at Boqueron (part of the Chaco war) against Bolivia, which again resulted in Paraguay's victory. No connection with Argentina.
