An illustrious figure during his lifetime, Charles Rollin enjoyed considerable esteem among men of letters after his death. In 1818, the lawyer, politician and journalist Saint-Albin Berville dedicated a book to him, Éloge de Rollin, which was awarded a prize by the Académie française.
