Seditious support for Napoleon, April 8, 1814

Wooden secret tower (olive?) revealing a seditious piece whose shadow projects the profile of Emperor Napoleon I.

Inscribed 8 Avril 1814, the day on which the provisional government declared all Napoleon's acts null and void, having been deposed by the Senate a few days earlier. Napoleon had abdicated on April 5 and the Senate called Louis-Stanislas-Xavier, the future Louis XVIII, to the throne.

Condition: damage to the upper part of the tower
