Pressed wood snuffbox depicting the Place Vendôme with its column, erected by order of Napoleon I between 1806 and 1810 to commemorate the Battle of Austerlitz.
Note that the column is not surmounted by a statue of the Emperor, but by a flag, probably the one that replaced the imperial effigy during the Restoration.
