Cardboard candy box, with domed glass lid featuring a mother-of-pearl, beads and twisted metal wire decoration depicting a lyre-guitar.

Good condition (small piece of wire damaged).

The lyre-guitar was invented by luthier Pierre Charles Mareschal around 1780. Very fashionable, especially in Parisian circles between 1780 and 1820, it is considered one of the most refined accessories of the neoclassical style.
